Eligible entrepreneurs can apply for startup financing through Futurpreneur, with additional financing available through BDC, subject to approval and program requirements.
Futurpreneur is a national non-profit organization that supports diverse entrepreneurs between the ages of 18 and 39.
It helps people start or buy businesses by providing loan financing, mentorship and business resources.
The goal is not just to provide funding, but also to give entrepreneurs the guidance and support they need to build a successful business.

Eligible entrepreneurs can apply for startup financing through Futurpreneur, with additional financing available through BDC, subject to approval and program requirements.
Entrepreneurs who receive financing can also receive up to two years of one-on-one mentorship to help with business decisions, challenges and growth.
Futurpreneur provides tools, workshops, planning resources and other support to help entrepreneurs prepare, launch and operate their businesses.
The Core Startup Program can provide financing from Futurpreneur, with additional financing available through the Business Development Bank of Canada.

BDC is a federal Crown corporation that provides financing and support to Canadian businesses.
Eligible applicants can also be considered for up to $50,000 in additional BDC financing through the Futurpreneur application.
You apply once through Futurpreneur. BDC has its own approval criteria, so Futurpreneur approval does not automatically guarantee the additional BDC amount.

You must be between 18 and 39 when you submit your Futurpreneur application.
You must physically reside in Canada.
You must be able to demonstrate training or experience related to your business idea.
Your business must not yet be operational, or it must have been operating full time for 24 months or less.

For the Core Startup financing program, Futurpreneur says financing and mentorship are provided together rather than separately.
You do not give Futurpreneur an ownership stake in your company in exchange for the loan financing.
For the Core Startup Program, Futurpreneur states that you cannot apply as an agent or contractor working for another already-existing business.
Your full application must be completed before your 40th birthday to qualify for the Core Startup Program.
